Yes we do need a Visa to enter Egypt., but this can be purchased in Cairo Airport when you arrive.

Egypt generally has warm / hot days and cooler nights, in fact some early mornings and night time temperatures can be surprisingly cool, so bring a light jacket or a jumper with you. When it is hot it is a dry heat, so much easier to deal with than humidity.

Comfortable, light weight, easy to wash and does not need to be ironed, that is what I bring myself. Who wants to be stuck inside ironing in a magical place like Egypt!

Most hotels and cruise ships have laundry services if you do not want to do it yourself.

Egyptians dress modestly and appreciate it when we do the same.

For Ladies, light weight jeans or three quarter pants ( Capri Pants), and tops that cover the shoulders, breasts and upper arms are best.

You do not need to wear a head scarf.

Skirts are best left for evening wear as you may find that some activities are not at all easy whilst wearing a skirt. Something a little more dressy for the evenings.

For Men, light weight jeans or trousers or long shorts that come to the knees, shirts and T Shirts are fine. Bring along a couple of more dressy outfits for the evenings, and do not forget a light jacket  or jumper, just in case it is cooler than you expected.

Comfortable and already worn in. High heels are fine for evening wear in the hotels but are a definite hazard during the day.

• Ball point pens to give away. Egyptian children love pens, and are thrilled to be given a gift. Many Egyptian adults also like them and take them home for their children.

Yes, we do get time to go to the colourful markets, Souks and Bazaars. Also most hotels and cruise ships have their own shops.

Egypt has long been famous for beautiful gold and silver  jewellery, lovely perfumed oils, papyrus and brightly coloured cotton clothing.

We generally use the Buffet restaurants in the hotels and cruise ships as this enables everyone to find the type of food they prefer to eat.

The Egyptians are usually overwhelmingly generous in the selection of fresh and delicious food that they provide us with, so no matter  what your dietary preferences are you should be able to easily find what you need.

The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound and for travelers from most parts of the world there is a very good exchange rate.

American Dollars and Egyptian Pounds are the favoured currencies, so bring those with you.

220 volts 50 HZ. Round pronged plugs. Easily bought in shops selling luggage or other travel goods.

Are to be found in the bathrooms of nearly  all hotels and cruise ships, but they might not be as fancy as the one you have at home, so if you cannot live without it, bring it with you with an adapter plug.

Hotels and cruise ships have swimming pools and it is ok to wear your regular swimming costume within the confines of the hotel / cruise ship.

Drink bottled water, it is easy to buy and good to carry around with you,  especially in desert areas.

This tour is not suitable for children.

Tipping is a way of life in Egypt and for many people they could not live without it.

U.S.$300  TO THE TIPPING KITTY.

THIS IS TO BE GIVEN TO AMBER UPON ARRIVAL IN CAIRO.

Of course, there will be other times when  a tip is required for some small service and that is up to you. The tipping kitty does not cover housekeeping in hotels or on cruises. That amount is generally 10 Egyptian pounds per night. 10 Egyptian pounds generally equals $2 or less.

Tour Guides are generally tipped US$ 30 to US$ 50 per day by the group. . This is entirely up to the individual and is given at the end of the tour for the outstanding service given.

Are welcoming and helpful and those who work in the hospitality  industry generally speak good English.

They are happy to have tourists come to see the many wonders of their beautiful country and most will go out of their way to make sure that  you enjoy every minute of your stay.
